Since the early production of Canada Goose products, they have used Coyote fur in the manufacture of many of their parkas and jackets. From the beginning they have closely examined and considered the use of these products from both an ethical and conservationist perspective. They are firm in their belief that these ethics are sound.

They use Coyote fur for functional purposes. The jackets are, and always have been used in the coldest places on earth. In such climates, where skin can freeze in an instant, the coyote fur creates a warm environment in the most critical area around the face. The warm pocket of air can keep exposed skin from freezing and getting frost-bitten. It is for precisely this reason that the cultures of centuries past used fur for protection against the extreme cold.

The fur that they use is acquired in accordance with the regulations developed and enforced by the provincial and territorial wildlife departments.

The fur industry is an excellent example of an industry based on sustainable use. Absolutely no endangered species are used. In the Canadian fur trade, government wildlife officials and biologists ensure responsible use by establishing controlled hunting and trapping, harvest quotas, licensing, and training courses. Strict government regulations ensure that
 these quotas and seasons are respected.

Canada Goose complies with all such industry and government guidelines. More importantly, we they take pride in the fact that by supporting this sustainable industry we are also supporting the native Canadian communities of the North and their centuries-old ways of life that are now being threatened. These communities are ethical in their fundamental approach to hunting: They identify with the value systems of these communities, and make a commitment that carries over to the way we do business:

Canada Goose does not buy fur from farms of any sort – ever.

The environmental benefits to using a natural product are clear when compared with the use of synthetics that are sometimes described as an “ethical” alternative to real fur. Many anti-fur advocacy groups fail to take into account the environmental impact of the production of synthetic fur. The chemical by-products of this production process have the potential to do more harm to the environment than the use of the fur from animals that are hunted as part of an ancient way of life that balances the needs of people and wildlife.

There are never simplistic solutions for complex problems. Canada Goose is proud of the principled, responsible and humane approach that we consistently take in making our products. Nonetheless we recognize that there are some who oppose the use of animal fur under any circumstances. We are extremely excited to now start carrying the Mitchell & Ness Nostalgia Brand. A brand we have seen become the leader in vintage and throwback sports team apparel.

Mitchell & Ness Nostalgia Co., is a sports apparel company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mitchell & Ness was established in 1904, and is the oldest sporting goods company in Philadelphia. By license agreements with Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association, National Football League, National Hockey League, and the Collegiate Licensing Company they are makers of authentic vintage sports jerseys, jackets, hats, and wool-felt historic pennants.

Growing up as a kid on the east coast watching the Pistons, Knicks and Raptors I have to admit I’m not the ultimate Kobe fan but this new Nike ad is brilliant. The Black Mamba has probably some of the best Nike Basketball ads since the days of Jordan.

This latest spot sings the praises of the KobeSystem and its ability to help the successful find even more success. Aziz Ansari and Paul Rodriguez aren’t the only ones on the KobeSystem – just about everyone else who matters appears to be under the influence of the Black Mamba as well. Word has been relatively scarce about Kanye West’s fashion line DW since it was showcased back in the fall. Now comes news that he will be moving to London to increase brand awareness as well as receive further tutelage from the likes of the Central Saint Martins staff. UK’s The Sun is reporting that West will make London a permanent residence until he unveils his latest collection in March at Paris Fashion Week. While Kanye always has the rumor mill abuzz, it seems that news pertaining to his budding fashion career always seem to be spot-on.

Which colorway of the Air Jordan X ‘City Series’ do you want to see a Retro of? The resounding answer was the ‘Chicago’ colorway, and given that this January 2012 release is a near copy of the original, we expect it to be one of the biggest hits of the year.

A few changes to note: the inner lining features the checkerboard print (the OG was solid red) and the Jumpman symbol on the heel is red (the OG was solid black). Regardless of these changes, the Chicago version of the Air Jordan X is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated sneakers of the first quarter of the coming year.

Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Gregory’s beginnings were humble but he persevered and now he is the founder and creative director of the Gregory Allen Company. The company creates high-end limited edition men’s shirts, characterized by dominant prints, intricate details and a hand signed inscription for authenticity.

In Spring 2008, Gregory Allen opened his flagship store in Toronto – launched as a hip, swanky store with a custom shirting program.

Gregory Allen designs have appeared in various magazines and fashion publications – TorontoLife.com, The Globe and Mail, Complex, Driven, Azure Design Lines, Peace and Askmen.com, to name a few.

Over 10 years ago, Gregory Allen made the smooth transition from co-op youth fashion consultant with street TBG to apprentice with the tradition of classic menswear of Trends Custom Tailoring to create the GREGORY ALLEN COMPANY in 2003.

A quick-study, Gregory soon began designing men’s casual luxury shirts that reflected his own impeccable style.
